WE MAKE PRETTY SIMILAR BEDS BUT...

Here’s what makes ours different:

  • Personal Comfort

WE DON'T ZIP OUR AIR CHAMBERS TOGETHER

Our precision design means we don’t have to rely on a zipper to keep the chambers together.

  • Sleep Number

    ZIPS AIR CHAMBERS TOGETHER

By zipping the chambers together, motion will transfer from one side to the other.

  • Personal Comfort

    ULTRA-FLEX CHAMBERS + FLEXIBLE DESIGN

Our Ultra-Flex Air chambers articulate better with power bases, and our design makes it easy to use any power base, bed frame, or platform. No matter what combination of products you purchased originally.

  • Sleep Number

VULCANIZED RUBBER CHAMBER + INTEGRATION DESIGNS

Multi-directional baffles limit smooth flexing on power bases. Sleep Number's design for integration can make using furniture combinations other than what was originally purchased, or using furniture from third parties, more difficult and can require modifications, more parts, or creative DIY's.

The design elements that contribute to this include attachment means like magnets (previous) or straps and cleats (current), air hose lengths and routing, and power cable length/couplings/transformers, and routing.*

But don’t just take our word for it! See what customers have to say about how Personal Comfort compares to Sleep Number.

“Better product than Sleep Number, you can buy replacement tops or upgrades, downgrades without buying a new mattress. Our Flex-Head King and Power-Flex 2 gave us everything we needed, and even made extra curricular fun even better. Dial it in baby!!”

Phil

“After 30 years with a Sleep Number mattress, we needed an upgrade. After comparing it with the Personal Comfort bed, Personal Comfort had a much better product and a much lower price. The adjustable base works great and we have enjoyed many nights of wonderful sleep on our new bed. We couldn't be more satisfied with the company and its products.”

Patrick M.

What Don’t We Do?

No Integrated Sleep Tracking

We don’t include sleep tracking in our beds. In order for your bed to measure how well you slept, it has to gather data and report that out to servers. We like to keep what happens in bed private, so there are no tracking sensors in a Personal Comfort Bed.

We Never Assume We Know Your Comfort Better than You

Our pump will never turn on or make an adjustment in the middle of the night without you telling it to increase or decrease firmness. We know that comfort is personal and believe that you know better than any algorithm whether you would like your bed softer or firmer. Other companies make a big deal about active adjustments, but that means the pump is turning on without you telling it to.

We Don't Sell Anything We Wouldn't Sleep On

Sure, they advertise some very affordable mattresses, but go ahead and try them for yourself...some of them are just not that comfortable. We have spent decades creating the perfect blend of adjustable support and indulgent comfort layers to make beds we love to sleep on too.

* What are we talking about when we say that it can be more difficult to use a Sleep Number Bed with furniture combinations other than what was originally purchased or with furniture from a third party?

Here are some limited examples:

  • To use a Sleep Number Mattress on any non-integrated base, you will have to open up the mattress and re-route the air hoses as part of the set up. Source: Sleep Number Service Article

  • To use a Sleep Number Power Base with any other mattress you will have to modify the base by punching holes and adding the retainer bars. Sleep Number Service Article II

  • To use a Sleep Number Mattress originally purchased with an integrated base or FlexFit base, the consumer will have to either harvest the hoses and power cables and re-route, or secure a new set up from Sleep Number service (no service documents available for this process, additional product or technician costs may apply)

  • To purchase a Sleep Number Mattress in a Split-Head configuration, consumers are required to purchase a FlexFit base. Therefore, the information related to power bases and methods of attaching are made relevant to a mattress comparison by virtue of Sleep Number’s Policy.  Personal Comfort has no such policy and routinely has customers purchase a Split-Head mattresses without a power base on the order.
